Stilmas have supplied over 3000 “Mascarini” Thermo Compression stills to the regulated pharma industry over the last 50 years. The units have an impeccable record of producing fully compliant WFI with long-term reliability and low maintenance, and above all outstanding energy efficiency. Vapour compression is not a high pressure/ high temperature process; these stills do not need purified feedwater, unlike multiple effect stills.
There are two classes of compressor available;
- low-speed nickel plated lobe compressors operating at around 700 rpm,
- medium speed turbine compressors with nickel-plated aluminium rotors. These operate at around 3000 rpm so avoid the need for specially lubricated, cooled high speed bearings.
Supplementary heating can be electric or by plant steam. Vessel contact surfaces are AISI316L.
Standard output ranges are 1-12m3/hr
